From drop-off to back on the car
Seven stages. Every wheel goes through the ones it needs, and none it doesn't.
Assessment
The wheel is inspected for runout, cracks and previous repairs. If it isn't worth repairing, or isn't safe to repair, we say so at this point rather than after you've paid.

Tyre Removal & Strip
Tyre off, balance weights and TPMS sensor removed and set aside, then the old finish stripped so we can see exactly what we're working with instead of guessing through the paint.

Straightening
Buckles and flat spots are corrected hydraulically, then the wheel is re-measured to confirm it runs true. There's no point machining a face on a rim that's still out of round.

Welding
Cracks on the back or middle of the rim are ground out, TIG welded and dressed back to profile. Spoke cracks are not repaired — that's a structural limit, not a preference.

CNC Machining
The wheel is chucked on the lathe and the face is machined to the model's original profile, restoring the fine concentric cut lines that make a diamond-cut finish what it is. This is the step most shops around here have to send away.
Finishing
Primer, colour and clear coat go on in the booth and are oven cured, which is what gives the finish the hardness to cope with Highlands weather and winter road grit.

Balance & Refit
Tyre refitted, the wheel balanced, TPMS sensor refitted and reset, and every nut torqued to the manufacturer's specification. You drive away with it done properly, not nearly done.

Bring us a wheel
Every job is quoted on inspection. Send us a photo or bring the wheel in and we'll tell you exactly what it needs.
